With its origins in the Southern African country of Botswana, Botho University was established in 1997 and has rapidly evolved over the years to become a top-notch multi disciplinary high-quality tertiary education provider in the SADC region. Botho already has other physical campuses in other countries including neighbouring Namibia, Lesotho and most recently Eswatini.

The Challenge

Botho University was struggling with their existing website developed for them by an agency in the United Kingdom and was seeking a technology company with digital transformation capabilities to add value to their existing business. In addition, the Open Distance Learning (ODL) environment in Africa is increasingly becoming competitive. It is gradually becoming the go-to choice for students seeking to further their studies affordable and at a more stable pace. Emerging technology has enabled many traditional Institutions to start offering ODL programmes in Africa which has made the ODL environment highly competitive.

As a relatively new brand in ODL market space, Botho University needed a marketing and branding strategy to enable the institution to launch its new online learning platform successfully in a cross section of African countries first and differentiate itself and its offering from its competitors.
